Winter Essential White Turtleneck
This winter will be my first in New York City. In fact, it will be a first winter more north than Maryland. When I told people I was moving to NYC an overwhelming question was if I “was ready” for the winter weather. I’d say now I am. The cold months have never been my favorite until experiencing them here. The city becomes the essence of coziness and provides an even greater sense of excitement when it comes to getting dressed. I think it’s the ability to layer; it lets you add even more experimentation into the simplest of items, like this white turtleneck.
Why a White Turtleneck?
If you asked me a few years ago what I thought of turtlenecks I would have most likely given you a strange look. It felt weird seeing myself without a neck. Good thing I grew up and embraced this ever so classic winter top.
I love this one in white and I also have it in black. However, white tops are easier to match in my mind so I’ve been living in this one quite a bit. As an added bonus, I paid $15 at J.Crew for the one I’m wearing. Even without the steal, a white turtleneck is definitely something you can be sure won’t fade out of trend quickly. While curating my closet, it’s nice to lean on the staples I know I’ll be styling next winter as well. If you’re on the lookout for that go-to work or play white winter essential, I will definitely say this item was made for a capsule, simple wardrobe.
